The 2021 draft seems so long ago, but that was easily the draft that Howie Roseman emerged as one of the best general managers in football once again.
The Philadelphia Eagles used that draft to set up a second Super Bowl run in five years.
While players like DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson will get the credit of the top of the class, one player has been an underrated find for the team despite the controversy that surrounded his selection.
And now he's in line for a big payday too.
Milton Williams was taken with the 73rd overall pick, a single pick after the Detroit Lions drafted Alim McNeill.
After the Eagles made their pick, Senior Football Advisor Tom Donahue was seen arguing with Roseman during the selection despite the general levity of the situation.
As of Tuesday evening, McNeill just became one of the highest-paid defensive tackles in the game with his four-year, $97 million deal with $55 million guaranteed.

Williams, like McNeill, is up for an extension after the 2024 season. He has recorded two fewer sacks than the N.C. State product, but has shown just as much upside in limited action on the field.
While Williams may not be getting the same kind of deal that McNeill has received from Detroit, it would be wise for them to come to terms on an agreement with the Louisiana Tech product.
As soon as possible.
