Metallica Headlining Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival for First Time Alongside Alice in Chains and Rob Zombie

Back in 2019, Danny Wimmer sought to create a music festival that embraced genres like heavy metal. Having founded Danny Wimmer Presents, the organization soon became one of the largest producers of music festivals in America. So when it came to the Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, there was no doubt the festival would be a hit. Sadly, over the last few years, the festival took a hiatus due to the pandemic. However, looking to take over the Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, the upcoming festival will feature more than Metallica.

Over the last few years, Wimmer tried numerous times to get Metallica to play at the festival. And although the band showed interest, life kept getting in the way. But that doesn't appear to be the case as Wimmer said, "Every year we ask our fans who they want to see at Sonic Temple, and the answer this year was clear -- Metallica! We've been trying to get Metallica to Sonic Temple for the last five years, and are ready to bring two nights of Metallica to Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio next May."

Kicking off on May 8, 2025, Wimmer promised a festival that included more than just Metallica. He added, "This is just the start; we'll have more than 100 bands playing across 4 stages for 4 days, including ROB ZOMBIE and ALICE IN CHAINS in direct support for METALLICA. We're so excited about this lineup that we'll be announcing artists daily for the next month, so there's a lot for fans to look forward to."

Throughout the history of the festival, the stage welcomed numerous legendary bands like Slipknot, The Darkness, Evanescence, and even Deftones. Releasing a video for the upcoming 2025 festival, fans shared their thoughts on Metallica adding their name to the show alongside Rob Zombie and Alice in Chains. "I hope Metallica comes to Louder Than Life 2025." Another person insisted, "I've always wanted to see Metallica. I'm beyond thrilled right now." For one fan, it seems that seeing Metallica never gets old. "I'm so there! This'll be my 7th/8th time seeing them. And my daughter's first time!"
