MAYS LANDING -- Jersey Mike's Subs is ready to open here next week.
The Ocean County-based sub shop with over 3,000 locations in the country will open at 4300 Blackhorse Pike on Wednesday. It's located in the shopping plaza that also features a Starbucks and a Crumbl Cookie.
Hours have yet to be posted online, but locations are typically open seven days a week from 10 or 11 a.m. to about 9 p.m.
Jersey Mike's roots date to 1956, with a Point Pleasant storefront location that was originally called Mike's Subs. In 1975, Peter Cancro, then a 17-year-old high school senior who had worked there since he was 14, bought the operation with the help of his football coach. He is the founder and CEO of Jersey Mike's.

The chain has expanded rapidly over the last decade, more than tripling its locations from 857 stores in 2014, to more than 2,800 this year, according to Technomic, a restaurant consulting company.
Jersey Mike's has locations in Little Egg Harbor, Barnegat and Forked River, as well as one coming soon to Millville.
