BURLINGTON, CT (WFSB) - Crews battled a large forest fire in Burlington early Saturday morning.
Officials say that at around 2:01 a.m., units responded to the area of Stafford Road for a report of smoke.
When crews arrived, they located a brush fire in a large wooded area south of Sherman Drive and Burlwood Drive.
They remained on scene to contain the fire until around 4:10 a.m.
Units returned at around 7:30 a.m. to fully contain and extinguish the blaze, staying there until around 4:45 p.m.
Mutual aid was provided by Farmington and Tunxis Hose Company fire departments.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the scene and reported a burn area just shy of six acres.
No injuries or displacements were reported.
Smoke is expected to remain in the area of several days.
