Free movies in the park start this Friday with 'Trolls Band Together'

Santa Marians are invited to three special showings of family-friendly movies in City parks over the next four Friday nights, starting with Trolls Band Together this week.

The 2024 Free Movies in the Park series, presented by the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and Driscoll's Berries will be held at Teresa Machado Plaza.

A preview the 2023 DreamWorks film "Trolls Band Together" follows Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) and Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake) as they embark on an adventure to rescue Branch's kidnapped brother, Floyd (voiced by Troye Sivan), from two pop stars.

Along the way, Poppy learns that Branch was once part of a boy band called BroZone with his brothers, and she also discovers she has a long-lost sister, Viva (voiced by Camila Cabello). The film is known for its blend of pop hits, humor, and themes of sibling love.

Movies are scheduled to start at dusk around 7:30 p.m., when attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair and some snacks to enjoy with family and friends.
