The Biltmore Estate has announced a reopening date.
Hurricane Helene hit on Sept. 27, bringing record-breaking rainfall amounts and unprecedented devastation to western North Carolina. Biltmore closed shortly after impact due to flooding and property damage in its low-lying areas.
The historic landmark will reopen to visitors on Nov. 2, in time for the holiday season and the cherished Christmas traditions at the estate. That date marks a little more than five weeks since Helene.
"We are pleased to share that Biltmore plans to reopen and celebrate the joy of the holiday season together during #ChristmasatBiltmore, beginning November 2," a Facebook post said.
In a social media post, the estate said the Biltmore House, conservatory, winery, gardens and the hotels had minimal impacts.
Earlier in October, the estate launched Biltmore Relief Fund for Western North Carolina and pledged $2 million in Helene relief.
Biltmore Village, another big attraction for Asheville, also suffered extensive damage.
