2025 Stanley Cup Final odds: Panthers, Stars, Oilers open as favorites

The Florida Panthers took Game 7 over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night to win this season's NHL championship, and we're taking an early look at Stanley Cup futures odds for 2025.

You'll find both the Panthers and Oilers near the top of DraftKings Sportsbook's 2025 Stanley Cup odds board. We've got you covered with opening futures odds for all 32 NHL teams, too.

The Panthers, Stars, and Oilers are the top-three betting favorites to win next year's Stanley Cup at DraftKings.

Head coach Paul Maurice has carried his team to two straight Stanley Cup Finals. After losing to the Golden Knights last year, the Panthers are bringing home the franchise's first Cup after a victory against the Oilers in Game 7.

Florida is arguably the NHL's most complete team at both ends of the ice. The Panthers do a tremendous job of smothering the opposition on defense. They've received great play from goalie Sergei Bobrovsky for most of the NHL Playoffs.

"Bob" faltered a bit in Games 4 & 5, but overall he's been a productive netminder for Florida in the postseason and came up big in Game 7.

Offensively, Florida is loaded with top snipers Sam Reinhart, Matthew Tkachuk, and Aleksander Barkov. Defensemen Gustav Forsling and Brandon Montour are mainstays along the blue line.

The Stars reached the Western Conference Final before being eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in six games. That marked the second straight season Dallas fell in the conference final, after it lost to eventual Stanley Cup champion Vegas last year in six games.

Dallas was a great road team (6-3) in the playoffs but struggled at home (4-6). The Stars have one of the league's top young talents in Wyatt Johnston, who led the way with 10 goals and 16 points during the postseason.

Center Joe Pavelski, second on the team in points with 67 during the regular season, is one of seven potential unrestricted free agents. Goaltender Jake Oettinger emerged as one of the NHL's top net minders with a 35-14-4 record and 2.72 goals against average during the regular season.

Connor McDavid had himself a postseason for the Oilers, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL Playoff MVP even though Florida won the Cup. He led all players with 42 playoff points.

McDavid had a team-high 132 points in the regular season, too. Edmonton's captain is slated to make $12.5 million next season, and McDavid won't become an unrestricted free agent until the 2026-27 season per capfriendly.com.

Fellow center Leon Draisaitl, who piled up 106 points during the regular season, is also back in the fold next year. Edmonton has potent point producers in defenseman Evan Bouchard (82) and left wing Zach Hyman (77), as well.

Goaltending was an area of concern at times for the Oilers, but Stuart Skinner finished the regular season with a 36-16-5 record and 2.62 GAA in the regular season. He's also 4-0 in potential elimination games this postseason heading into Game 6 tonight versus the Panthers.
