Is Boise's first In-N-Out opening this weekend?

BOISE, Idaho -- 'Double Double' the fun, as Idaho's second In-N-Out location is preparing to open soon.

Get ready to go 'Animal Style' in the new location, located nearby the Boise Towne Square Mall.

On Oct. 16, In-N-Out filed an application for a temporary use permit to park and operate a mobile merchandise truck in front of the new Boise location.

The dates they selected for the temporary use permit were Oct. 25 through Oct. 27.

The permit application also asks permission to place four dry storage containers on the property to "support the opening of the store."

As of Wednesday afternoon, that permit had not yet been approved by the city. However, a city spokesperson confirmed that the permit is being reviewed.

The city spokesperson also added that the In-N-Out building has received final certification of occupancy and approval - which allows them to run the business.

So, does that mean Boiseans won't need to travel to Meridian for their In-N-Out fix anymore starting this weekend?

KTVB reached out to In-N-Out Wednesday. No word yet from the burger chain.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

As KTVB previously reported, the Gem State's first In-N-Out opened at the tail-end of 2023, with customers camping out overnight for the chain's burgers.

"We had customers lined up, our first drive-thru customer arrived about 30 hours before opening, and we had long lines this morning well before we opened," In-N-Out COO Denny Warnick said. "The welcome that we have felt from the community so far has been amazing."

When the Meridian In-N-Out opened, it was the company's 400th location, which made the Treasure Valley opening that much more special.
