LAS VEGAS (KSNV) -- Police say they have arrested a suspect for murder after a woman's body was found in a freezer during a welfare check in a Las Vegas neighborhood Wednesday.
Daniel Roush, 37, was booked into Clark County Detention Center. He made an initial court appearance Thursday afternoon and was ordered to remain held without bail.
LVMPD said in a statement that officers tried to check on an elderly woman after receiving a request for a welfare check Wednesday in the 5500 block of5500 Tres Piedras Road, near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.
They went into the home and met with two people who couldn't provide any information on the woman's whereabouts. While the officers searched the home, they found the woman's body in a freezer.
The two others were detained as homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. They learned Roush, one of the detainees, was involved in the woman's death.
No further details were immediately disclosed. The Clark County Coroner's Office has not released the name of the victim or the cause and manner of death.
