Jets defensive end Haason Reddick is...well finally going to become a Jets defensive end. His long holdout is over per Ian Rapoport.
The Jets acquired Reddick in the offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles for a third round pick. The pick could potentially escalate to a second round pick if Reddick hits certain playing time and statistical thresholds. However, after missing the first six games those thresholds will be virtually impossible for him to hit.
The Jets certainly could use Reddick. Their defensive line has been inconsistent at best this season, and Will McDonald is the only defensive end currently on the roster capable of rushing the passer with any degree of consistency.
Reddick is currently in the final year of his contract. He is seeking a new deal so obviously it is in his interest to play well. He will have plenty of motivation to produce.
There is no word on when Reddick's Jets debut will be. We can make an educated guess that it won't be tonight when the Jets face the Steelers, but we will need to see after that.
