GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) - The Green Bay Packers may be moving closer to making a change at kicker in the coming weeks after they worked a long-time veteran on Tuesday.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Packers brought in former Broncos and Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus for a workout on Tuesday as the team looks at possible options to replace their current struggling kicker Brayden Narveson who is 12-of-17 on attempts this season and leads the NFL in missed field goals with five.
McManus (33) was waived by the Washington Commanders before the season began due to allegations that were from two female flight attendants who say the Super Bowl Champion assaulted them during a team flight to London while he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. The alleged victims sought a $1 million settlement in the case. McManus' attorneys released a statement regarding the alleged incident back in May saying the claims "are absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false allegations made as part of a campaign to defame and disparage a talented and well-respected NFL player."
The NFL investigated the claims and concluded last month that there was "insufficient" evidence to punish McManus based on the league's personal conduct policy.
Last season, the ten-year veteran made 30 of 37 field goal attempts (81.1%) and has an 81.4% career percentage. McManus hit a 61-yard field goal against the Chargers in 2021, the longest field goal of his career, and during the 2015 season, he became only the third kicker in NFL history to make multiple field goals of 56 or more yards in the same game, joining only Sebastian Janikowski and Greg Zuerlein.
