Dynamics of peace and conflict: The future of the island of Ireland

Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Signalistgatan 9, 169 72 Solna

In a world where the pursuit of peace often seems elusive, understanding how societies navigate conflict and reconciliation is more important than ever. From global hotspots to deeply divided regions, any path towards peace involves complex negotiations of identity, sovereignty and belonging. One such case, rich in history and lessons for our times, is the island of Ireland.

Welcome to a conversation with Brendan O'Leary, Lauder Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and a leading authority on Irish politics, as he explores the evolving landscapes of Ireland, both North and South.

Tea and coffee will be served from 16:30. The event will begin at 17:00.

Brendan O'Leary is Lauder Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and an expert in power-sharing in divided societies.
