As Asuka recovers from a knee injury, she faces a new challenge: porch pirates. The former women's champion is now among the millions of Americans who've had a package stolen from their doorsteps.
"Amazon products delivered to our house were stolen by three children. Security cameras caught them stealing," said Asuka on X. She later updated her post, saying, "Three men stole a package that was delivered to me."
According to a recent article by Security.org, porch pirates stole $12 billion in packages over the past year, affecting as many as 58 million Americans. Frequent online shoppers are particularly vulnerable; those who place several orders weekly are twice as likely to be victimized compared to those who order only a few times a year.
With the holidays approaching, package theft often rises. To reduce your risk, Security.org suggests these tips: schedule deliveries for times you'll be home, or send packages to your workplace or a store for pickup. For complete peace of mind, consider shopping at brick-and-mortar stores.
Unfortunately, this is Asuka's second delivery issue this year. In September, she shared that she ordered a record from Amazon but received a comforter instead. In late October, she updated fans, saying, "The KISS vinyl record Alive! I ordered two months ago was lost, and I had to get a refund."
