Report: Patrick Mahomes' Father In Jail After February Arrest

Earlier this year police arrested Patrick Mahomes Sr. just days before his son Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were set to square off against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Before his son won his third Super Bowl, police stopped Mahomes Sr. and charged with his third DUI. Police released him from custody and he eventually watched his son hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

However, as a condition of his latest arrest, Mahomes Sr. is back in jail.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Mahomes Sr. started serving his sentence following the driving while intoxicated charge in February.

From TMZ:

A Smith County jail official tells us ... the father of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes was booked on Tuesday afternoon at around 4:53 PM and took a new mug shot. He's now not expected to be released until Halloween.

Of course, the 10-day stint in the slammer was all planned ... as it was a condition of the plea agreement Mahomes Sr. reached with prosecutors stemming from his Feb. 3 arrest for drunk driving in Tyler, Texas.

Video of Mahomes Sr.'s arrest hit social media last week. In the video, the father of the NFL star quarterback could be heard pleading with officers not to arrest him on the eve of the Super Bowl.

"Can I say one thing?" Mahomes Sr. asked. "My son is getting ready to play in the [expletive] Super Bowl, OK? Just listen to me. I am not drunk. I promise you. I've had some drinks. But he can't have this right now. Listen, this can't happen."

"Dude. This is crazy. My son is getting ready to play in the [expletive] Super Bowl and I'm doing interviews -- five or six a day. And then, now, this [expletive] going to be on the news which is going to [expletive] with him, and it's probably going to [expletive] him up. And he probably won't win the Super Bowl. But that's fine. If that's what y'all want to do, that's good."

He'll reportedly be released from jail early next month.
