OSU football's Ollie Gordon II scored the game-winning touchdown during a 39-31 overtime win over Arkansas at home on Saturday.
Gordon finished the day on a high note after struggling throughout the game. The junior running back finished with 17 carries for 49 yards and one touchdown, and he also made two catches for 20 yards.
OSU (2-0) quickly abandoned the run game as it found itself playing catchup against Arkansas (1-1). The Razorbacks held a 21-7 lead at halftime, and Gordon entered the break with six carries for 11 yards.
But OSU rallied to force overtime, and Gordon ran for a 12-yard touchdown and caught the two-point conversion in the second OT period to help his team complete the comeback.
Gordon entered this season as a Heisman Trophy candidate, and he got off to a strong start in Week 1 when he ran the ball 28 times for 126 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-20 home win over South Dakota State. He'll have to make up ground when OSU faces Tulsa on the road on Saturday, Sept. 14.
