Joseph G. Patterson says he has been a Chiefs fan since the team moved to Kansas City in 1963. The Kansas City resident says he's all in for the Chiefs.
"I've been a season ticket holder for for 14 years, got perfect attendance and never missed a game. Never missed a draft day. Never missed a training camp," Patterson said while tailgating in the parking lot at Arrowhead stadium recently before one of the Chiefs' preseason games.
Patterson says since Patrick Mahomes joined the team his household has changed. "My wife is buying stuff. The number 15 is all over in my house."
"To be a Chiefs fan? How can I say this? I mean it's like being in heaven," Patterson said when quizzed on what it means to be a fan of the team right now. "We've got the GOAT (Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes), the coach ( coach Andy Reid), and number 87 ( Travis Kelce). We're the team to beat still in Kansas City."
