I adjust my skincare routine in the fall - layering is a must as it gets colder

AS the temperatures drop, a woman shared how she modifies her beauty routine to combat her drier skin.

"I practice what I call cyclical/seasonal skincare," she said.

"I adjust when I feel the climate is affecting my skin. I live in Canada so I am feeling a lot of change!" she added.

The lack of sunshine meant she was severely lacking in vitamin D, which she said "affects you in so many ways."

To deal with this deprivation, she makes sure to consume vitamin D every single day.

She had become accustomed to adjusting her routine as soon as she felt the first sign of a chill.

"The air is getting colder and windier. So I am layering more layers of toner," she said.

"I am layering Some By Mi Honey Propolis Toner and the Laneige ceramide toner."

She gave a full rundown of her fall time routine.

"I'm still layering essences and serums as needed, but instead of one eye serum, I'm layering eye serum and eye cream," she said.

"Lastly, my gel moisturizer isn't cutting it anymore, so I'm layering that under a heavier ceramide cream or layering the ceramide cream with argan oil," she added.

If you want to try her techniques for yourself, Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner is currently on sale on Amazon for $15.80.

Laneige Cream Skin Refillable Toner and Moisturizer with Ceramides and Peptides is available at Sephora for $36.

She is constantly reminding herself to remain "patient" while her skin goes through some seasonal changes by remembering that it will soon "level off" and adjust to the drier temperatures.

She shared how once her skin regains its "balance," she no longer needs to layer.

"Eventually, my skin calms down and isn't so dramatic about the cold. Only if I've been out a while so I add another layer if I'm not sheet masking," she said.

Others shared their own methods for fighting the frigid cold.

"I take an oil-spray supplement! The vitamin D is suspended right in the oil and you spray it into your mouth. Easy-peasy," said a user.

"I do very poorly with hyaluronic acid, but glycerin has been great for me, with an oil on top," another commented.

"During spring and summer, I use Etude House Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream. In the fall and winter, I switch to the 2x Barrier Cream," a third chimed in.

"Everything else is the same. I just adjust to the seasons by changing my moisturizer," they added.
