New York Giants predicted to take skilled OT in 2025 NFL Draft

The New York Giants will always be searching for help along the offensive line.

While the unit has been far better in 2024 with the additions of Jermaine Eluemunor, Jon Runyan and Greg Van Roten, the Giants still need to find long-term options.

In a recent 2025 NFL mock draft from Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News, the Giants held the No. 15 pick and took a big swing at a potential franchise right tackle.

"Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas (6-4, 324 pounds): The Giants are feeling good about Andrew Thomas, but fellow first-rounder Evan Neal is hurt and they should look for a sturdier, more agile solution at right tackle to help Daniel Jones or whoever else at QB," Iyer wrote.

Banks has been a three-year starter at left tackle for the Longhorns so the transition to right tackle would be something the Giants would have to feel comfortable with.

Brandon Thorn of Bleacher Report has Banks ranked as his No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class while giving him a late-first, early second-round grade.

"Overall, Banks is a skilled pass protector with good athletic ability who works effectively on combination blocks and can line up targets on the move but will fall off of blocks on longer developing plays and struggle to finish due to streaky sustain skills consistently," Thorn wrote.

It will be interesting to see where the Giants wind up in the draft order because that will certainly play a role in how they go about the upcoming offseason.
