Stephen King Story Getting Sequel Over 20 Years Later

Author Stephen King is known for his decades' worth of stories that have formed various interconnected arcs over the years. However, he doesn't often create direct sequels to his works. Now, after twenty years, Stephen King has just confirmed that he is, in fact, working on a sequel to one of his iconic stories.

King, whose works include such hits as Carrie, The Shining, Pet Sematary, Misery, and more recent releases like Holly, confirmed the new sequel on Threads. He previously teased his work on the sequel, which was enough to get fans hyped, but now it's satisfying to know it really is in the works.

Interestingly, the history of this particular Stephen King sequel can be traced back several decades. In 1984, King collaborated with fellow actor Peter Straub to create The Talisman. They delivered a sequel to the novel in 2001 titled Black House. Sadly, Straub passed away in 2022, but King has revealed that Straub did share an idea for a third novel before his death.

Sadly, while Straub is no longer with us, King insists that he'll be channeling his style throughout the book:

Hopefully we'll have more details regarding this project in the near future. Interestingly, a television series based on The Talisman is currently in the works. While it's unknown when the TV series will hit, we'll hopefully receive this new book around the same time. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Stephen King news and other Talisman updates as we have them.
