RIPTA extends Metro Connector survey

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- There is now more time to weigh in on a study looking at the future of transportation in Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority's (RIPTA) Metro Connector Study is exploring the possibility of using light rail or rapid buses to connect Providence, Pawtucket, Cranston, Warwick, Central Falls and Cumberland.

RIPTA will be holding a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Cranston Senior Center to discuss the study.

The time period to take the online survey has been extended until Thursday, Oct. 17.

RIPTA is encouraging both riders and non-riders to share their thoughts through the survey. It is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
