Former Jets Star Says Aaron Rodgers' Actions Against The Rams Were 'Despicable'

Former New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott called Aaron Rodgers' actions against the Green Bay Packers -- trying to force feed Davante Adams so he'd catch Rodgers' 500th touchdown pass -- "despicable." Scott made the comments about Rodgers following their loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

During the postgame show on SNY, Bart Scott ripped into Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, calling his attempts at "sentimental records" "despicable."

Rodgers admitted that he was aware of the potential of Davante Adams' catching his 500th touchdown pass and "wished" he would have.

His comments obviously did not sit well with Bart Scott, who ripped into the pair during the Jets' postgame show, saying that as long as the duo in town, the Jets' will remain in this position.

"To have a 10-minute drive and end up with nothing. And it's because you're going for records, right? Sentimental records. And you're deciding who gets your record. And I think that's - that's despicable," the former Jets linebacker said on SNY's postgame show.

In the loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which dropped the Jets' record on the season to 4-11 -- an appalling mark considering they began the season with Super Bowl expectations -- Rodgers completed 28 of 42 passes for 256 yards and a lone touchdown to Davante Adams.

Since trading for Adams on October 15, the 31-year-old has overtaken third-year receiver Garrett Wilson as Rodgers' favored target, which is something that Wilson railed against on Sunday.

"I'd like to be involved, love to make an impact on the game, but people see it differently. That's out of my control," Wilson told reporters after the game.

The Jets will close out their 2024 season on the road against the Buffalo Bills then at home against the Miami Dolphins.
