Cam Newton Turning Heads With 2-Word Message After Travis Hunter Wins Heisman

Earlier this week former college football and NFL star Cam Newton revealed he was going to be in New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony for the first time in over a decade.

Why? Travis Hunter.

"The only reason I'm going back because one of the former players of my C1N program, Travis Hunter," he said plainly.

When the list of Heisman finalists was read, Newton made it clear he's a fan of every finalist going to New York this year and the ones that have come before. "I'm a fan of every single one of them and I've been a fan of all the others Heisman winners and finalists. It was just...it's bigger than that," he said.

His father also told him to "get out" of his feelings and attend the ceremony.

"And my dad told me to go. So, I don't give a damn how big and bold you are...Cecil Newton call me, I answer," he said before revealing what the phone call was like. "'Hey boy, get out your feelings and make sure your presence is felt in New York. I ain't negotiating with you,'" Newton said of his father.

Newton should be glad he went. His former player picked up the Heisman and posed for a photo in front of the award with the former Auburn star.

"Good to see you back on that stage Cam. Congrats Travis, HE12MAN 2024. and nobody can take it away," one person said.

"I'm so glad you went. Now get in on those Heisman house commercials," added another.

"I know this is full circle for Cam! Trav used to play on his team. This is soooo dope!" offered a third.

Hunter won the Heisman in a close race over Boise State's Ashton Jeanty.
