New name, same podcast! Welcome to the "first" episode of Death Don't Do Fiction, the AIPT Movies podcast! The podcast about the enduring legacy of our favorite movies! It's September, so that means it's time for our "Mechtember" series, where we cover movies involving all things robotic! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss Stuart Gordon's surprisingly ambitious tale of giant robot-fighting, Robot Jox!

Thumbs up, fist bumps! Little Padawan braids! Geopolitical conflict resolution via mech-fighting! Flying futuristic referees! An overwhelming jumpsuit/onesie budget! Futuristic bars! The potential dangers of mech-fighting as a spectator sport! Subtle hints about the poor state of education in a post-apocalyptic future! Rocket hands! Shockingly disturbing PG violence! A chef who specializes in robot recipes! Special effects that were almost *too* ambitious for their own good! It is a movie that not only seemingly influenced Pacific Rim and Edge of Tomorrow but is also a kinda of Rocky IV with giant robots! Crash and burn!
