Man arrested at Taser-point following chase in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A Youngstown man is facing charges following a domestic violence situation and police chase in Austintown.

Alan Raub, 38, is charged with domestic violence, a third-degree felony; making false allegations of peace officer misconduct, a first-degree misdemeanor; and obstructing official business, a second-degree-misdemeanor.

Police said they had to chase Raub on foot through woods near Meridian Road and arrest him at Taser-point after they were called last week to an apartment by a woman who said that Raub assaulted her.

According to a police report, the woman said Raub pushed her to the floor of a bathroom, kicked her several times in the stomach and urinated on her.

As officers were en route to the call, they saw Raub walking on N. Meridan Road where they tried to get him to stop so they could talk to him, however, during their interaction with him, Raub took off running through a wooded area where officers lost sight of him.

Another officer responding to the area saw Raub run down an embankment and into another wooded area. Officers searched the area, found Raub and arrested him at Taser-point.

While booking Raub, police said he complained of being injured and was treated at an Austintown medical facility before being charged.

Raub was arraigned last week and is expected back in court on Wednesday. His bond was set at $15,000 and he was ordered not to have contact with the victim.
