JACKSON, Ohio (WOUB) - The Hillsboro Indians took the trip to Alumni Stadium in Jackson to face off with the Ironmen, but Jackson defended their home turf with ease in a 49-0 victory.
The Ironmen hit the ground running, as Bodhi Wolford aired it out to Ryan Seimetz for a 70-yard touchdown on just the second play from scrimmage, putting Jackson up 7-0 early.
After a strong defensive stand, the Ironmen got the ball back, drove it down the field, and capped off their drive with a 19-yard passing touchdown. This time Wolford connected with Tucker Williams to extend the lead to 14-0.
The defense held strong again, setting up another drive for Jackson. Nolan Johnson punched in a 10-yard rushing touchdown to put the Ironmen up 21-0 with 2:03 left in the opening quarter.
The Indians were forced to punt yet again, and a long drive was capped off by a 13-yard touchdown pass from Wolford to Gaven Jones. Jackson's lead grew to 28-0 with 8:33 remaining in the second quarter.
Hillsboro's Tre Captain tried to respond, taking an option toss to the house, but a costly holding penalty moved them back into their own territory, halting any progress the drive had achieved. The Indians turned it over on downs, and the Ironmen yet again capitalized by way of Charlie Woodard's elusiveness on a screen pass. The 27-yard touchdown extended the lead to 35-0.
Very early on in the third quarter, Johnson worked his magic, dragging several defenders en route to a 23-yard rushing touchdown to put Jackson up 42-0.
The Ironmen kept it rolling and walked away with a 49-0 victory.
Quarterback Bodhi Wolford was phenomenal, throwing 11-for-12 for 247 yards and four touchdowns. His leading receiver was junior Ryan Siemetz, who hauled in six receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown.
The Ironmen's defense was just as impressive, as they held Hillsboro to only 88 total yards of offense throughout the night.
Jackson will travel to Chillicothe next week to take on the Cavaliers. With a win, they will claim the FAC title outright, which would be their fourth straight championship.
