Once Human continues to stand strong as the hottest new survival game on Steam right now. The free game continues trading places with Rust as the most-played option on the Valve store, and Once Human update 1.3.1 is about to drop a whole heap of additional improvements and upgrades as the ongoing Way of Winter season continues. Developer Starry Studio is continuing to polish bugs and deliver fixes, and its next patch is introducing several new features and key changes, including a big upgrade to Once Human animal taming.
The Once Human 1.3.1 patch notes kick off with server optimizations and improvements to the survival game's newest PvP mode, Prismverse's Clash. More Prism Deviations will spawn at once, and they'll now appear two hours later than before, at 8pm server time. Fishing has been made a less effective method of snagging them, however. Alongside this, any players who tie for a score in the mode will now all receive the highest tier of rewards that they are eligible for.
A range of new animals can now be tamed as livestock in the free Steam game. Once your animal ranch is set up, you'll be able to catch and tend to wild buffalo, polar bears, foxes and snow foxes, snapping turtles, and sea turtles. Starry Studio notes that randomized patterns for these animals will show up in a future update.
A new event has also begun. The Wish Land Party is a special Eternaland you can visit with friends for an "autumnal celebration." It's only available from Thursday November 7 through Monday November 18, so be sure to check it out while you can. Starry has also added a seasonal calendar feature, making it easier to keep track of updates and scenarios from within the game itself.
As the third phase of The Way of Winter rolls in, there are new snowy realm tasks to complete, along with the second phase of the Nutcracker morphed deviations, introducing nine new variants and two rare colors. Head to the shop and you'll find the new Sailor's Spirit battle pass featuring pirate-themed fashion, along with an Urban Oddities Lightforge loot crate if you prefer a more dark, cyberpunk look.
Once Human update 1.3.1 arrives on Thursday November 7 following server maintenance, which is set to begin on Wednesday November 6 at 8pm PT / 11pm ET and Thursday November 7 at 4am GMT / 5am CET and last for approximately four hours. You can read through the full patch notes courtesy of Starry Studio for all the additional details, including bug fixes and smaller tweaks.
Ahead of the update, make sure you haven't missed any new Once Human codes to get your hands on extra free materials and more. Alternatively, bring your friends along for another of the best co-op games on PC.
