KSAMC Probing Possible Breaches at Commercial Building on Lyndhurst Road

Law enforcement and anti-corruption agents visited the offices of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, KSAMC, on Friday as part of an investigation into a commercial development located at 18 and three-quarters Lyndhurst Road.

This follows allegations that the building was recently constructed without the relevant permit from the KSAMC.

Nationwide News reported on Thursday that a law enforcement entity had launched an investigation into a business complex reportedly owned by Councillor for the Maxfield Division, the PNP's Dennis Gordon's company.

Today, the KSAMC announced that it has launched an investigation into the development.

According to the KSAMC's statement upon learning through media sources of alleged breaches pertaining to a commercial development, Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Andrew Swaby, has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.

It says Mayor Swaby reiterated the fact that the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation is fully committed to ensuring that all developments comply with the standard regulations.

He also sought to assure the public that the corporation's oversight processes are rigorous, transparent, and effective.

The mayor says the Corporation is determined to restore public confidence in its ability to manage and

enforce building standards within its jurisdiction.

While the release from the KSAMC references 18 and a half Lyndhurst Road.

We reported on Thursday that the building in question is located at 18 and three-quarter Lyndhurst Road.

This is also the address listed on its website and Facebook page.

The building in question bears the logo of the JACDEN Group of Companies and houses a medical facility.

Councillor of the Maxfield Division, Dennis Gordon is the Chairman of JACDEN Group.

The structure also has the words - the Dennis Gordon Building written on it.

It is located in the East Central St. Andrew Constituency, of which Mr. Gordon is also the PNP's Chairman.

Our sources say law enforcement and anti-corruption agents visited the offices of the KSAMC on Friday and seized files relating to the construction.

News of the investigation is sending jitters throughout the KSAMC, which is controlled by the Opposition PNP.
