A residential fire in Marion County resulted in the death of a family dog and displaced the residents on Sunday.At around 12:23 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 1200 block of Northeast 130th Terrace following a 911 call that reported flames and heavy smoke coming out of the roof. The caller also said that a dog was inside the residence, according to MCFR. Crews arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, with the fire extending into the attic space. Firefighters established command and immediately transitioned to an offensive approach to combat the blaze.Additional units arrived to assist and worked to battle the fire and establish a water supply.Firefighters completed a primary and secondary search of the residence, and the family dog was found deceased. The residents were not home at the time of the fire.No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
