Springhill, Louisiana Mardi Gras Parade Is This Friday

Those new to the Bayou State might not understand exactly what's going on around here!

It's Mardi Gras in Louisiana! Laissez les bons temps rouler! (Newbies, that's French for "Let the Good Times Roll)

With the official date of Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, coming on Tuesday, March 4, everyone in the state gets into the spirit with purple, green and gold clothing, King Cakes, and oh yes, those incredible Mardi Gras parades.

Not to be left out, downtown Springhill is looking forward to their annual Mardi Gras parade this Friday, February 7.

It's Mardi Gras on Main Street and it will rule the roost all this Friday evening in downtown Springhill!

They'll have activities from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the parade itself will roll at 6:00 pm beginning on the south end of Main Street.

According to the Mardi Gras on Main Street event page on Facebook, the parade, celebrating "The Best 90's" will travel up Main Street, then will turn right on Clinic Street at the Express Tax & Title office and make its way south on First Street back to the Piggly Wiggly parking lot.

Event organizers expect a large number of the area's favorite food trucks, face painting for the kids and loads of Mardi Gras music just right for a little street dancing.
