Christine Palacio passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2025 with family members by her side.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara on Dec. 19, 1952, she was the daughter of Philip U. Palacio and Lillian C. Palacio.

Christine was employed at San Roque School as a secretary and eventually at the University of California Santa Barbara Library for many years.

She was known by her family and friends for her generosity, heart of gold, and infectious sense of humor that had a way of turning even the most ordinary moments into memories full of laughter.

Her humor was more than just a gift, it was her way of showing love and lifting others up.

She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend to so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Christine's son Khalid Hurst preceded her in death, as did her parents, sister Diane, and brother Gerald. She is survived by her siblings Ricardo, Philip Jr., Stephen (Debra), and Michael (Janet); as well as her nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 21 E. Sola St., Santa Barbara.
