Shown during a drill at minicamp in June, Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring ailment.
Receiver George Pickens, defensive tackle Larrry Ogunjobi and safety DeShon Elliott did not practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, according to the league-mandated injury report.
Pickens is nursing a hamstring injury suffered late last week that caused him to miss this past Sunday's win against the Cleveland Browns. Coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday characterized Pickens as "doubtful" to play in Sunday's game at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ogunjobi suffered a groin injury during the first half against the Browns, and Elliott has what Tomlin referenced as "hamstring tightness."
With the Steelers set to play three games over an 11-day span Sunday, not much should be gleaned from that Elliott and Ogunjobi, in particular, missed practice. The Steelers gave six healthy veterans the day off entirely - linebackers T.J. Watt and Patrick Queen, receiver Mike Williams, running back Najee Harris, guard Isaac Seumalo and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.
