A slow-moving cold front Saturday will bring some of the coldest temperatures we've seen this fall by early Monday morning.
The National Weather Service has a Freeze Watch that will go in effect from 2:00 AM Monday and last until 9:00 AM. A Freeze Watch means that conditions will be favorable for freezing temperatures during the time of the watch.
Temperatures are forecast to fall to the mid-30's inside the Capital Beltway. However, if it does drop to 32 degrees, or colder, it will be the first October freeze in Washington, D.C. since 1992.The average first freeze for Washington is November 17th.
Whether the temperatures drop to freezing or not, it will still be cold. Remember to bring in your potted plants, cover the sensitive ones, and bring in your pets.
This will be a quick cold snap. Temperatures will return to the low 80s by Halloween, with lows in the 50s.
